Gaga Takes St. Louis

Saturday night at the Lady Gaga concert at the Scottrade Center, Gaga took everyone in attendance on a trip to the Monster Ball... and what a trip it was! There were some definite fashion do's there like the woman above in her fabulously cute rendition of Gaga's look (people were literally lining up to get a picture with/of her)...

And there were also a lot of fashion don'ts like the gentleman above who was wearing a flesh colored bodysuit and caution tape. Walking around the concourse before the show was probably one of the highlights of the night, every time you thought you saw the craziest get up ever two seconds later you would see someone that topped it.

The opening number Dance in the Dark

This was the best costume of the night the headpiece and wings moved in and out, the shoes were amazing and it must have weighed a ton since she had to pitch forward to walk back up to the main stage with it on and I think three people helped to lift it off her.

During Teeth in true Gaga shock fashion she smeared fake blood all over herself.
Overall it was a great show. It was every bit the theatrical spectacle that everyone imagined. There were at least five complete set changes and nine costume changes for Lady Gaga. The most outrageous one (I unfortunately could not get a good shot of it) looked like one of the brushes that washes your car at a drive thru car wash. It was a huge white cylinder that had a cut out for her face and two layers of large felt strips hanging from it. Before fans could really comprehend what it was she had removed it.
Another interesting part of the show was the intro to Telephone. At each show Lady Gaga performs she makes a call to a fan in the audience who has a Virgin Mobile cell phone. In return Virgin Mobile donates $20,000 each show to the Re*Generation project that works to end youth homelessness and also provides shelter for LGBT youth who have been kicked out their homes. So one lucky fan got the chance of a lifetime and hundreds of homeless youth get a new lease on life. Not bad for a five minute phone call. At the end of the call Gaga announced someone was beeping in, and of course it was a pretend call from Beyonce which lead into Telephone and the crowd going bananas.
The show rounded out with Lady Gaga arriving to the monster ball and singing Bad Romance for the encore which had everyone in attendance singing and dancing along. Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah-ah, roma-roma-mamaa, ga-ga-ooh-la-la... :)
